Donald Finch

Donald E. Finch, 69 of Johnson City, NY, passed peacefully on August 25, 2015 with his loving wife Shelley by his side. Donald was predeceased by; his son Donald Jr. who he loved so much and has been waiting to see again; his Brother John Robert; his mother, and father, and one great-grandchild, Lachlynn.

            He is survived by his; sister Shirley Morris, one brother Michael Sloma; his grandson Kyle Finch; nieces,Terri and Cheryl; one nephew Lee; many grand-nieces and grand-nephews; six step-children and seven step-grandchildren who will miss their grandpa Don. He also leaves special friends Andrea R, Jeff M, Dave B, and Bob W.

            Donald worked as a bus driver for Broome County Transit for 13 years. He was a loving, considerate, and generous husband, brother, grandfather and friend. He overcame many obstacles. As a result he gave back, above and beyond that which was so freely given to him. Donald was a strong and positive influence in the Alcoholics Anonymous community for over 30 years. Through his devotion and service, he was able to help countess others learn to overcome the disease of alcoholism. He was also a member of Hands of Hope Ministries. He loved and served God, having no fear of passing as he struggled with the illness that took him away so quickly. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to the American Cancer Society.

            Services will be held Sunday August 30, 2015 at 5 pm at the Savage Funeral Home 338-344 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5pm. Condolences may be expressed at SavageFS.com.
