Harry G Higgins

Harry G. Higgins age 91 of Binghamton, passed away on April 9, 2016. He was predeceased by his loving wife Winifred Higgins in April of 2014 ; his parents Anna and Harry Higgins ; his two brothers Robert and Arthur Higgins; brothers-in-law Joseph Hicks, Douglas Markle, Joseph Selneck,  Duane  Bauer, John MacAlarney; sisters-in-law Jean Higgins,  Aileen Higgins, and Diann MacAlarney; special nieces Jody Williamson and Alyssa Cavage. He is survived by his sister Gloria Hicks of Port Jervis, NY; sisters -in-law Bernice Markle and Judy Bauer; many loving nieces & nephews, great-nieces & nephews, and  great-great nieces & nephews ; as well as many friends. Harry was a member of the United States Army and served in WWII in the 8th Infantry Division in France.  He was wounded, and received the Purple Heart. He retired from the U.S. Post Office after 38 years. He served on the Board of  Directors  for Horizons Credit Union for 20 years, was a member of the N.A.R.F. and the Port Jervis, NY Fire Department. Also, he enjoyed golf and bowling and was an avid Yankee and Giant fan. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday April, 14, 2016 at the Savage Family Center 338 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY. The family will  being to receive friends at 10:00 am . The Service time is 11:00 am.   In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the Wounded Warrior Project or American Heart Association.
