John Riegel

John J. Riegel Jr. age 57 of Sidney, NY passed away on August 21, 2016. He is predeceased by his son Ryan Whitman in 2001. He is survived by both of his parents Jack and Betty Riegel of Harpursville, NY ; 7 children Tasha ( Mike ) Wilmot of Windsor, NY , C.J. Whitman of Port Crane, NY , Joe ( Rachel ) Riegel of Port Crane, NY , Brian Riegel of Johnson City, NY , Adam ( Milissa) Whitman of Port Crane, NY , Garrett ( Ashley ) Riegel of Ouaquaga, NY , Jarred Riegel of Port Crane, NY ; 3 brothers Dave Riegel of Windsor, NY , Bob Riegel of Harpursville, NY , Darin ( Ronda ) Riegel of Bainbridge, NY ; 3 sisters Valerie Ryan of Harpursville NY , Chris ( Dennis ) Lewis of Harpursville NY , Donna ( Jeff ) Baxter of Binghamton, NY ; 16 Grandchildren ; and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.

     John was a resident of Delaware County. In his youth he served his country in the United States Air Force. After leaving the military he worked as auto mechanic for Witakers Auto Sales in Sindey NY. He was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed his guns while in good health. He was also very fond of coffee and lottery tickets. John loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.

      A Memorial Service will be held in Johns honor on Saturday August 27, 2016 at the Living Hope Alliance Church 848 Ballyhack Rd Port Crane NY 13833. The family will begin to receive friends at 10:00 am until the 11:00am service begins.
