Robert Paul McGuigan 84, of Conklin, husband of 60 years of Mary Joan McGuigan and last remaining child of Lawrence and Rose McGuigan has passed away surrounded by the love of his family.  He follows his parents, brothers, Lawrence, John, James, Bernard and sisters, Margaret and Rose to eternal life.  His faith helped him rejoice in the lives of his children Joni, Kevin, Maureen, Laura and Robert and granted him the strength to deal with the passing of Joni and Laura.  He fostered a strong sense of family with his children and their spouses Anne, Howard, Matthew and Paula. He took great pride and joy in his eleven grandchildren Daniel, Molly, Katy, Samantha, Noah, Emily, Jack, Tate, Max, Matt Ryan and Sabrina. He was steeped in Pittsburgh pride that he shares with his many nieces and nephews. He served proudly in the United States Air Force and followed that with a career in Flight Simulation that led him through Europe and the United States settling down to work for Singer-Link for 30 years. After settling down in Conklin they raised their family and grew friendships throughout the area making it a wonderful home for him and his family.  He is ever indebted to Thomas Ryan for introducing him to his sister and welcoming him into the Ryan family. The McGuigan and Ryan clans were joined to make in-laws seem like family and cousins feel like brothers and sisters. Our family doesn’t know what we would have done these past few years without the amazing nursing help and advice from his grand-niece Caitlin and his niece Linda.

A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 AM Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Sts. John & Andrew Church in Binghamton with Msgr. Meagher officiating.  The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:30-7 pm at the Savage Family Center 338-344 Conklin Ave in Binghamton.  Online condolences may be expressed at www.SavageFS.com.  In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to SV Dollars for Scholars – Joni McGuigan Endowment PO Box 382, Conklin NY 13748 or Saints John and Andrew Church 7 Livingston St, Binghamton, NY 13903
