Rodney Charles VanDoorn

Rodney (Rod) Charles VanDoorn, of Chenango Forks, New York, born in Johnson City, New York, to Florence VanDoorn and the late Forrest C. VanDoorn, passed away at age 64 on March 21, 2018. He graduated from Chenango Forks High School in 1972. He was a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Broome County Highway Department. Rodney was married to Laurie VanDoorn. He is survived by his son, Storm & Deniel VanDoorn; daughter, Tracy & Jeremy Schmerder; brothers, Richard & Patti VanDoorn and Michael & Kelley VanDoorn; sisters, Barbara & Bob Young, Bonnie VanDoorn, and Marsha & Pat Kapinus; ,Brothers and sisters in law Cherie & Dave Hill, Randy & Brenda Keville, Jackie Shaver; and grandchildren, Madison, Kole, Alyssa, and Leah. and many more nieces and nephews. Rodney loved farming, hunting and fishing. The family invites donations in Rodney's name to St Judes Children’s Hospital. Rod and Laurie have been together for 41 years, All our love, All our lives. Friends and family can pay their respects at the visitation on Monday, March 26 from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Savage Demarco Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave, Binghamton. Following that, there will be a funeral service, officiated by Rev. Robert Young, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Savage Demarco Funeral Home, 338-344 Conklin Ave, Binghamton.
