Donna Waldron Obituary

Donna Lee (Nelmes) Waldron, 70, of Kingsley, PA went home to be with the Lord on March 3, 2024. Donna was born in Hazleton, PA to Steuart Nelmes and Shirley (Nelmes) Sarosky who both preceded her in death. Donna graduated from West Hazleton High School in 1972 where she met and married her only love and best friend of 54 years, Thomas L. Waldron. A dearly beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin, Donna spent her life serving others. In her early years, she poured her life into raising her five daughters. Once “the girls” were older she became a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) where she served the patients, families, and staff of St. Luke Pavilion for over 20 years. Donna will be as missed as she is loved.

Surviving her include her devoted husband, Thomas, also of Kingsley, PA, along with her five daughters and families: Lenore and Leonard Macikonycz, Kingsley, PA; Cynthia and Louis Pantages, Lake Harmony, PA; Kathryn and Troy Smith, Freeland, PA; Theresa and Anthony Petrilla, Kelayres, PA; Nicole and John Cicon, Pittston, PA; and seven dear grandchildren. Surviving siblings and families include Bonita (Nelmes) Lupien, Steuart “Buddy” Nelmes, David Nelmes, Joseph Hill, Sheryl Hill, Douglas Nelmes, Brian Nelmes, and Roger Nelmes.

In addition to her love, Donna will be remembered for many things, including her sense of humor, resilience, and her love for cooking and collecting recipes. Donna also loved the many dogs and cats she cared for over the years. As per her wishes, a private celebration of life will be scheduled at the convenience of the family.
