Stephen Nester Obituary

 Stephen "Sparky" Nester, 87 of Binghamton passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was born on December 9, 1930 in Binghamton. Steve was predeceased by his; parents, Stephen and Stella Nester; and his mother-in-law & father-in-law Maria and Casimir Kedzierski. He is survived by; loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Betty Nester; two sons and daughter-in-law, Eric and Maria Nester, Dave Nester; grandchildren, Searria, Shanley, Christian and Patricia, who he was very proud of "We will miss you Grandpa". He graduated from Johnson City High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Air force was a member of American Legion Post 1305, a member of IBM Quarter Century Club and retired from IBM after 34 years of service. He was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. Many of his favorite memories were of summer vacations spent with family and friends at the cottage on Black Lake. He enjoyed fishing, collecting stamps, crossword puzzles and playing quick draw at Sharkey's. Steve was a kind, generous loving man who enjoyed having his family around him. He will be deeply missed. A funeral mass will be held 1 pm Monday February 19, 2017 at Holy Trinity Church, 346 Prospect street, Binghamton. The family will receive friends from Noon until the time of service.
