In addition, he leaves behind his many friends and caregivers at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center who deeply warmed his heart. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a sniper supporting campaigns in Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, and the Ryukyu Islands from 1943 through 1945. He later served in the National Guard and was a life long member of the American Legion. He was a hard worker starting his own delivery service appropriately named “Jerry’s Delivery”, worked for Temco (IBM) and greenskeeper at Endwell Greens. He was actively involved in the Marine Corps League, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, and loved to ride his motorcycle.
