Marion Estella Jenkins

Marion Estella Jenkins, 88, of Kirkwood, NY went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.  She was predeceased by; her husband, Thomas Jack Jenkins; her parents Kenneth and Bernice VanGorder; and sister, Dorothy VanGorder Miller.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by; her five sons, Thomas J. Jenkins and his partner Fiona Cleugh, David Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, James Jenkins, and Gregory Jenkins and his wife Joanna Jenkins; five grandchildren, Jennifer Jenkins McPherson, Thomas E. Jenkins, Rebecca Jenkins Dapolito, Gage Jenkins, and Adam Jenkins; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth VanGorder, Vesta, VA; one sister, Joan VanGorder Farrell, Caro, MI; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born in Eldred, PA, Marion graduated from Arnot Ogden School of Nursing in 1951. While raising her family she worked in several offices and facilities in Broome County including Willow Point Nursing Home and River Meade Nursing Home. Her caring nature shone through her love for family, friends, neighbors, and patients.  The family sends a heartfelt thank you to the caring staff and volunteers at Elizabeth Church Manor. You were a blessing in her final years.

Funeral services will be held 11am Friday September 28, 2018 at the Kirkwood United Methodist Church, 255 Main Street, Kirkwood NY 13795 with Rev. Prentice officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10 am until the time of service. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.SavageFS.com.
