Wesley Charles Jackett Jr. died February 3, 2018, in Binghamton, NY after a sudden illness. He was born June 4, 1933, in Buffalo, NY to the late Wesley Jackett Sr. and Naomi (Leonard) Jackett. In addition to parents, he was predeceased by his son David A. Jackett and his brother Robert Jackett.
After raising a family and working for Sylvania Electric Co. in Batavia, NY, he moved to Binghamton where he met his dear companion of the last 34 years, Linda Getman.
Wes (Buzzy) will be remembered especially for his offbeat sense of humor and curiosity about practically everything. At age 75, he learned to use email and Facebook and authored numerous hilarious, memorable messages.
He is survived by his best friend Linda Getman, children Deborah (Patrick) Mooney, Linden Jackett, Laura Jackett, and Sheila (Kevin) Baugh, sister Elaine Norton, brother Richard Jackett; grandchildren Tobias and Argus Murphy, Amanda Spring, LaurelLi Draper, and Kira Baugh; nine nieces and nephews; and six great grandchildren. A private service will be held.
