Charles Minnich Sr., affectionately known as Chas, finished his journey on earth on June 6, 2022. A Vestal graduate of the class of 1968, he went on to work in the metal forging trade until retirement. Throughout his life he acquired countless friends and possibly an enemy or two along the way. He was an amazing man, a force of his own and remarkable in so many ways. Hardworking, steadfast, honest, humorous, fun loving and irreplaceable. He believed in enjoying life and held his American heritage true to his heart. His love of his family and friends was deep and unwavering. He joins his parents Ed and Amelia Minnich and many friends who predeceased him. He leaves behind; his wife of 30 years, Jenifer; his children, Charles Minnich Jr. and daughter, Danielle Hickman; brother, Mike(Laura); sisters, Diane (Dan) Traver, Mary (Jim) Barry; many nieces and nephews, the closest being Jenifer (Haskins) Gibson, Beth Haskins, Davey Haskins, whom he adored with his whole heart and his sister-in-law Lisa Haskins. His only wish is for those who would like to celebrate his life is you proudly display an American flag, with honor and pride because "That's American." Though he is gone, his legend carries on and "What a country" it was while he was here. He will be forever loved and misssed, but never forgotten. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
