Charles Praefke

Charles “Chuck” Praefke, 71, of Port Crane passed peacefully at home Thursday, September 2, 2021 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.  He was predeceased by; his Mother, Mary Carpinelli; his father, Russell Praefke; his brother, Joseph Carpinelli; and brother in law, Bruce Tracy. He is survived by his loving family; wife of 47 years, Susan (Tracy) Praefke; son, Damon & Laurie(Fusco) Praefke; granddaughter and the light of "Papa's" life, Isabella; sister, Sue & Ron Linfoot; brother, Peter & Jill Terwilliger; brother-in-law, Dana Wells; sister, Rosanne & Gregg Cordero; sister & brother-in-law, Janet and Doug Clark; brother and sister-in-law David & Cherie Tracy; sister & brother-in-law, Laura & Mark Esposito; sister & brother-in-law, Patty Quinn & Don Hickling; his special cousin and dear friend Jerry (Antoinette) Gilbride; and two much loved cousins Dorothy Rice & Nancy Bargher. He was "Papa Chuck" to several nieces and nephews and many others too numerous to mention. He founded Nighthawk Janitorial Services 30 years ago, a successful company he created with the help of his son, Damon. He loved golfing with his friends and spending time at the Sons of Italy, but his favorite thing in life was the time he spent being "Papa" to Isabella.
