Cornelius Nixon

Cornelius “Nix” Nixon, 58, of Binghamton, originally from New London, CT, passed away on June 26, 2026.  

Nix was an accomplished artist and member of the Binghamton arts community. With frequent art shows and permanent installations at the Bundy Museum and paintings throughout local businesses, Nix was well loved by all who knew him.

Nix is survived by his brother Daniel Nixon of New London, sister‑in‑law Julie Nixon of Ledyard, Connecticut, and an entire community of friends throughout Binghamton. He leaves behind friends of the Binghamton arts community, particularly The Bundy Museum, his beloved neighbor Katelyn Hession, and dear friend of 20 years Eric Eckman, director of the Bundy Museum.

The family would like to thank all of Nix’s friends for their love and support throughout the years. He will be sorely missed by all, but the Binghamton arts community truly gave him a place to call home. In lieu of flowers please send any donations to the Bundy Museum.
