Donald Riccardi

Donald F Riccardi, 72, of Kirkwood NY , passed away unexpectedly on December 20, 2021 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton NY . He was born on December 30, 1948 in Cortland NY to Dominick and Leola Glazier Riccardi. He worked as a cook at various restaurants throughout Cortland County for many years up until his retirement. He was a loving, devoted, husband, father, grandpa/Papa Don. He loved gardening, canning, cooking, fishing and working on a variety of crafts with his family. Being a proud Italian he loved making his homemade spaghetti sauces and soups. How could we forget his love for wrestling and reading as well?
 
He was pre-deceased by his parents Dominick Riccardi and Leola Glazier Grant and son Daniel Riccardi. He is survived by his wife, Carol Riccardi, who would have celebrated their 27th anniversary on January 1, 2022. Also his beloved Chihuahua Misty; his children, Rebecca (James) Yadlosky Jr. of Kirkwood NY; Donald of Butler PA, David of Marathon NY, Edward (Carrie) Fay of Frederick MD and Jeffrey (Daisy) Fay of Mt. Airy MD. As well as his grandchildren Jessica, Noah who is currently serving in the  NYS National Guard, Miranda, Kyrsten, James III, Brandon, Serena, Bret, who is currently serving in the U.S Army, Owen, Aleigha, Zachary and Ashton.
 
Last but certainly not least, he is survived by his siblings; James, Bryan (Terry), Eric (Linda) of Cortland , NY and Cheryl of NC, many nieces, nephews, dear friends and special extended family. You know who you are. You will surely be missed, but never forgotten. Every time a special song comes on, a sauce is smelled, a Misty barks, a fishing line is cast, a project is done by James Jr. without you, you will be thought of. We love you now, forever and always Pop.
