Douglas Arthur Prow, 78, of Binghamton, passed away on September, 23, 2024 after succumbing to injuries he sustained in an accident in his beloved 1941 Chevy pickup truck. His daughter Heather was by his side for 23 days in the hospital, and held his hand as he took his final breath.
Douglas is survived by; his daughter, Heather Prow; brother, Kenneth Prow; neighbor and longtime friend, Kenneth Kasmarcik, as well as countless friends from car shows. Douglas now resides in heaven with his parents, Joseph and Bernice Prow, and siblings, Rosemary, Walter, Joe, Lloyd, Louise, Elouise, Nancy, and Patty, as well as his Aunt Trudy and Uncle Devern Sanford.
Douglas was generous and kind-hearted, and would drop everything to help a friend in need. He was an animal lover, and a friend to the rabbits and birds in his yard, whom he delighted in photographing on his flip phone. He had a fantastic sense of humor, and although he would tell the same jokes over and over again, the gigantic grin on his face as he told them, never got old. He was most happy when he was at a car show, or in his garage tinkering on the many antique cars he owned over the years.
A memorial will be held at Hands of Hope Free Methodist Church at 270 Robinson Street, Binghamton NY 13904, on October 11, 2024 at 4:00pm. Express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com.
