Edward C. Moelder, 82, of Binghamton,NY passed away peacefully November 16, 2023 surrounded by his family after an extended illness. Eddie was predeceased by; his parents Carl and Letizia Moelder and siblings, Katie and Richard Moelder. He is survived by; his brother, John (Michele) Moelder who cared for Eddie the last years of his life; his son, Scott; step-son, Aaron; grandson, Dillion, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. Eddie retired from NYSEG as a Lineman. Eddie will be remembered for his love of hunting and the many years spent at his cabin in Triangle where he had a summer celebration every year for family and friends to enjoy. He also had the most amazing garden and grew the best garlic! Eddie earned a nickname for wherever he was; the Veteran’s Home called him “hot sauce Eddie” (he put hot sauce on everything), the guys in the hunting camp called him “Moonshot Moelder” and his co-workers at NYSEG called him “Fast Eddie.” His mom had nicknames for all her children, Eddie was “Yola”, Richard was “Dicky Duck”, Katie was “Cheena” and John was “Chizio”. Eddie had the best sense of humor and never complained about his illness, he would say “It is what it is, I’ll deal with it.” We would especially like to thank Oxford Veteran’s Home and Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich for their care and compassion the last year’s of Ed’s life.
The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 3pm Thursday Nov. 30, 2023 at SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service 338-344 Conklin Ave Binghamton, NY 13903 followed by a Full Military Honors Service.
