Joseph VanWert Obituary


Joseph Thomas VanWert Sr, also known as “Chip”, passed away January 31st, 2021 with his oldest daughter by his side, and his family virtually with him. 
Chip was born on April 8th, 1945 to Ruby Holden, his mother.
Chip was the the man everyone could go to for help. He called himself “Joe’s Taxi”. He had the sense of humor of a comedian and a heart pure as gold. Chip loved his sweets and would always fight with his children about watching his diabetes. He was a fireball of fun and everyday spent with him was full of laughs. 
Chip would always greet his wife in the morning with a “Good Morning Mum”. He lived for his wife Sandra, and their children. Chip was a family man, and would do anything to make sure his family was okay. 
Chip is predeceased by his mother Ruby Holden, his sister Nancy Avery, his brother and best friend Lewis “Butch” VanWert, and his son Thomas VanWert.
Chip is survived by his wife, lover, and friend of 48 years, Sandra VanWert, 2 daughters Brandy (son in law Byron Jackson), Tammy VanWert ( Dawn Leach), 2 sons Randy Vanwert and Joseph VanWert Jr (Bobbi White) 4 grandchildren Natasha DOliveira, Kashawn Stroman, Jada VanWert and Joseph VanWert III, 2 great grandchildren Amari and Amaya D’Olivera, his sister Dawn Ferrara, as well as many nieces and nephews.
