Joyce (Haynes) DeRose

Joyce Haynes DeRose, 79, passed away on May 25, 2026,  at home with her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Joyce is predeceased by her parents Clifton and Olive Haynes, her sister Julia Bishop and Richard DeRose her husband of 52 years. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Joshua) Kellam, 3 grandchildren Rachel DeRose, Elliot DeRose and Julia Scheuerman (Kenneth Smithson), her sister in law Loretta Tanzini and several nieces and nephews.

Joyce was born and raised in Walton, NY before moving to Binghamton in the late 1960s.  She worked for Lourdes Hospital for over 15 years before moving on to Upstate Hospital for 10 years.  In her off time she enjoyed cooking, baking, playing bingo, traveling and crocheting.  She was a member of St. Mary’s of the Assumption.

Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday June 3, 2026 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Court St. in Binghamton with Fr. Arthur Krawczenko officiating. Burial will be private in the family plot in Walton, NY. The family will welcome friends at the church from 10am until the time of service.  Please share condolences at www.
