Loretta McMillion Obituary

Loretta Ann McMillion [neé Tanner], 79, of Port Dickinson NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Good Friday, April 18th, 2025. A loving wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother and beloved matriarch, she spent her life caring for those around her with incredible strength, unwavering love, and deep compassion.

Born on April 7th, 1946 in Sidney NY, Loretta grew up the eldest of 9 siblings. As a dedicated and doting sister, she was known for her warm heart, witty nature, and deep sense of love and responsibility toward her family. She found joy in serving others; cooking family meals, tending to her home, and supporting those she cared about with an open heart and listening ear. Her selfless nature and willingness to put her family before herself left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. Her sacrifices for her family were many and endless, carried out with love in her heart and a smile on her face.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph McMillion; her children Eric Drake, Nick Drake, Jennifer Baldizan, and Lauren McMillion; her grandchildren Gabriel Daugherty, Jeffrey Drake, Jessica Drake, Noah Drake, Lily Cannon, and Cynthia Baldizan; her great-granddaughter, Sara Claire Sailors; her siblings Joseph Tanner, Claudia Surowka, Sherry Tanner, Cathy Tanner, and Heather Shepard. She also leaves behind countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Tanner and Marion Robinson; her beloved son Christopher Drake; and her siblings Patrick, George, and Rita Tanner.

A private service will be held by family and close friends at Glenwood Cemetery in Afton at a later date. In honor of her memory, the family asks that you hold your loved ones a little closer and treat others with love, grace, and understanding — just as Loretta always did.  Please express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com.  Arrangements entrusted to SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service
