Lynn Shumway

Lynn Grant Shumway, age 69, of Oneonta\ New York, passed away on June 23, 2026, after a life marked by devotion, kindness, and a steady love for the people around him. Born on June 21, 1957, in Oneonta, New York, he carried the values of his hometown with him throughout his life, meeting each day with warmth, humility, and a gentle spirit that left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Lynn was a loving husband to Lorlinda Shumway and a proud and devoted father to Joshua Shumway, Jonathan Shumway, and Katiemarie Snyder. He also welcomed and cherished the spouses who became part of his family, including Caroline Lennon, Katlin Webster-Shumway, and Nathan Snyder. He found great joy in being a grandfather to Penelope Snyder, and he treasured the bonds he shared with his brothers, Maynard Shumway Jr., Susan Shumway, and Fredrick Shumway. Family was at the center of Lynn’s life, and he gave his love freely and faithfully to those closest to him.

Lynn spent many years working as a retired inspector at Amphenol-Aerospace, where he was respected for his dedication, reliability, and strong work ethic. He approached his work with care and integrity, and those who worked alongside him knew they could depend on him. His professional life reflected the same qualities that defined his personal life, including patience, honesty, and a quiet commitment to doing things well.

Outside of work, Lynn enjoyed the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. He loved spending time with family and friends, and those moments were among his greatest joys. Music was a constant source of enjoyment for him, and motorcycles held a special place in his heart as well. Whether he was sharing conversation, listening to music, or appreciating the freedom of the open road, Lynn found happiness in the experiences that brought people together and created lasting memories.

Those who knew Lynn will remember him as loving, gentle, and funny. He had a way of making others feel comfortable and valued, and his sense of humor brought lightness to many gatherings. His kindness was genuine, and his presence was calming and reassuring. He was the kind of man whose character spoke for itself, and his influence will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.
