Her remarkable life was a testament to love, resilience, and dedication. Marge is survived by her two sons, Charles Freije and Darlene Meeker and David and Kathy Freije, her daughter, Janet and Gordon Mehl and her daughter-in-law, Susan Freije.
Marge leaves behind a legacy that extends through the Freije Tribe of Conklin, which includes numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family was a source of immense pride and joy throughout her life.
Marge's career was a constant in her life, working tirelessly well into her 80s. She was first known as the welcoming waitress and owner of The Barn Restaurant in Binghamton. She later served as a dedicated cashier at register 1 at K-mart and, in her final years of work, at the Family Dollar in Conklin. Her commitment and strong work ethic were always evident.
One of Marge's greatest joys was supporting and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's sporting events, concerts, and school functions. Her enthusiastic cheers and unwavering support made her a fixture in their lives, leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to witness her dedication. Her favorite times were with family at picnics and clambakes and that special tradition will continue to live on. Country singer Blake Shelton was also a favorite and she enjoyed seeing him in concert.
Her family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Marge's life at the Conklin Community Center on Sunday, October 29, 2023, from 1-5 pm. It will be a time to remember, honor, and cherish her incredible life, a woman whose love, strength, and unwavering support touched the hearts of many.
