Mark English Jr. Obituary

Mark English Jr, aka Wax, aka DJ Waxamillion, left our earthly plane in the early hours of Sunday, December 8, 2024, at home after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 52 years young.

Born and raised in Binghamton, NY, Mark was the eldest child of Christine and Mark English Sr. He grew up on Court Street with his two sisters, Beckie (Dino Muggeo) and Amber (Adam Frazier). He graduated from Binghamton High School in 1992.

First and foremost, Mark was a loving father to his sons, Rocky (9) and Lennox (13), and his daughters, Kassidy (19), and Cierra (23). He was a doting grandpa to his first and only granddaughter, Sophia (1). Her dad, Ethan, was like a son to him. He would always look for himself in his kids and was so happy whenever he saw a hint of legacy.

Mark had several circles of friends that intertwine like Olympic rings. At the core are his guys: Adam Paulo, Drew Lewis, Ed Richardson, Joe Drumm, John Gardinor and Gary Loveria. He treasured these men in a way that cannot be conveyed by pen. Fortunately, they know this. His love for them was unquestionable- a true brotherhood and the very best of friends.

The DJ Waxamillion circle is the largest by far, growing from his teen years right through the end. His records and turntables were his pride and joy; music was always his therapy. Wax loved Funk, Rap, Hip Hop and R&B.  He was also a huge supporter of local artists, being a valued member of TKN- The Know Names, and the Elements Crew.

He also had a gaming circle with his Xbox buddies, which provided distraction (and hilarity) during the weeks of recovery spent on the couch. Weegee, Lavin, JP, Cody, Hiner- he appreciated your presence so much. The last few times he really laughed were with you guys.

Lastly, there’s his circle-in-law, the one his wife pulled him into. Lindsey brought him an amount of love and light that he had never known before. Her core circle of friends delivered unwavering support on a level that most people only dream of (her Super 8). Her family adopted Mark as their own; he gained bonus parents, grandparents, a sister, nieces and nephew. Together for 16 years, Lindsey loved him 110% every day. She was committed to making sure he knew real joy and trust, and in doing so, she mended his heart.

A celebration of life is obviously in order, to be held at the Touch of Texas in Binghamton on Friday, Dec 27th from 7-10pm.
