Maud Bevin Obituary

Maud Gertrude Bevin 89, of Binghamton, NewYork died peacefully Sunday, February 28, 2021 at her home surrounded by family. Born in Leitrim County, Ireland to John and Annie Caslin, Maud had been the lone survivor of thirteen children.  Preceded in death by; her beloved husband of 50 years, Rodge; and daughter, Tricia Berry.  She is survived by; her three sons, Rodger Bevin, Paul Bevin and Peter Bevin; one daughter, Mary Bevin;  eight grandchildren Bradley, Christopher, Shannon, Dereck, Kiernan, Anne, Daniel, and Casey; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Jude; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.   A devout Catholic, Maud was a member of St John & Andrew Parish; she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lector, and participated in the RICIA program.  Maud attended Nursing School in Cambridge England, she worked at Lourdes Hospital for 18 years, first in the staffing office then the de Paul children’s clinic.  After retiring she worked part time at Savage Funeral Home.  Maud loved to travel especially to visit family.  She enjoyed nothing more than visiting with friends and family over a cup of tea, with something sweet.   Her faith and family were the cornerstones of her life, a loyal and generous friend always willing to lend a hand, a shoulder to cry on, and a laugh to cheer one up she will be sorely missed.  The family wish to extend a heartfelt gratitude to staff of Wilson’s South Wing 3, for their outstanding tender care to Maud and her family, during these very trying times; and to Lourdes Hospice team.

A Funeral Mass will be offered 10 am Saturday March 6, 2021 at Sts John and Andrew Church Vestal Ave Binghamton, NY 13903 with Rev. Msgr. Michael Meagher officiating.  The family will welcome friends from 6-8pm Friday, March 5 at the SAVAGE-DeMarco Funeral Service 338-344 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903. Burial will be private.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.SavageFS.com.
