With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the death of Michael Scott Brady of Endicott, New York who passed peacefully on February 6, 2026, after fighting a long and courageous battle with cancer. He passed at home surrounded by family. He was 64 years old. Michael was a beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew and uncle who was present and often the heart of our most cherished memories. He will be deeply missed in all milestones to come.
Michael is predeceased by his parents Janice Elaine and Gary LaRue Brady, survived by sister, Karen Sunanne Gardner-Goyden (Gregory Goyden, Sr.) and brother, Stephen Patrick Brady. Nephews: Michael Steven Boyd Gardner, Corey Matthew Brady and Owen Oliver Hayford Gardner. Aunt, Caregiver and Matriarch: Gloria Mead. Michael was raised in a home filled with love, faith and discipline.
At a young age, Micheal developed a deep love for music. He was proud of his early record collection of 45’s along with his later collection of hundreds of LP albums. Mike loved loud music and attended many concerts at The Broome County Arena and throughout the United States. He also enjoyed baseball, summer swimming at The Z Pool and DeRyder Lake. Winter fun included sleigh riding down the snow filled hills of Endicott, NY and as a teenager, Micheal spent every weekend at the Rollereana/Rollerdome in Endwell, NY. It was these years that Michael started building meaningful lifetime friendships.
After graduating from Union Endicott High School in 1980, Michael continued his education at BOYD School Of Travel and Tourism in Pittsburg, PA and it was the travel industry that he built a satisfying and successful career upon. That career took him to Dallas, Texas where he worked for the AVIS BUDGET GROUP for over two decades and transferred to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he worked for an additional 14 years. Mike specialized in their contact management, sales division, where he earned multiple promotions, awards, and accolades.
Later in life Mike took an interest in visiting state parks, camping, cooking, wine tasting and travelling. All roads lead Mike back home to Endicott, New York after living in Virginia for 3 years to the delight of his sister and her family. Mike was a man of deep compassion and understanding. He listened. He loved and he nurtured. Mike lived a life marked by kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to those he loved. He will be forever remembered for the love he gave so freely and the light he brought to the lives around him.
The family would like to sincerely thank ALL the staff that helped Michael on his extensive journey, including UHS Oncology, Radiation, Chemo and All the Excellent Hospice Nurses that helped him complete his voyage,
A celebration of life will take place at a later date to honor Mike’s life and legacy.
