Naomi A Shields

Naomi A. Shields, 82, of Conklin, NY joined her husband, Willis Shields Sr., in heaven Sunday, October 6, 2024 on what would have been their 61st wedding anniversary. She was also predeceased by her parents Roger and Catherine Snow; and three brothers, Robert, Franklin, and Roger Snow. Naomi is survived by her devoted family, including her two sons, Jonathan (Juli) Shields and Willis Jr. (Alyssia) Shields; three grandchildren, Hunter (Rae) Shields, Ryan Shields (Viridiana Miranda), and Lisaia (Jerr) Urbina; two great grandchildren, Zydin and Mia Urbina; two sisters-in-law: Diana (Barry) Speakman and Linda Snow; two brothers-in-law: Stanley (Bobbie) Shields and Francis (Linda) Shields; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Naomi was very proud of her long career in nursing. She graduated from the Charles S. Wilson School of Nursing in 1963, and later studied Health Care Administration, Adult Education, and Psychology at St. Joseph's College. She was an RN at UHS Wilson Medical Hospital and RN Quality Assurance at Broome Developmental Center. Noni was an avid bowler and card player, and she also enjoyed knitting, games, reading, and travel. Most of all, Naomi loved spending time with her family and friends, and she was a woman of great faith and an active member of her church.

A Memorial service will be held at 1pm Friday, October 11, 2024 at Conklin Forks Methodist Church with the Rev. Mary Jean Simonin officiating. The family will welcome friends Thursday, October 10 from 5-7pm at Savage Funeral Service, 338-344 Conklin Ave. Binghamton, NY. Express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com.
