Richard Moelder Obituary

Richard H Moelder, 79, of Conklin,NY passed away peacefully at home on March 14,2022 surrounded by his family. Richard(Dick) is predeceased by; his parents Carl and Latizia Moelder and sister, Catherine Moelder. He is survived by; his lifetime partner of 34 years, Carolyn Peabody; sons Hans(Vickie) Moelder, Shane Moelder, Jason(Tiffany) Moelder, daughter-in-law Brooke(Dave) Moelder; step-children, Sherry Cook, Michelle(Rick) Smith, Jeffrey Peabody; brothers Edward Moelder, John(Michelle) Moelder; several nieces, nephews,grand children, great grand children, cousins and his loyal companion Hank the poodle. He enjoyed the great outdoors with his family, boating, camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, and watching Westerns. His beloved friends knew him as “The Duck”. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army. He retired from NYSEG. Richard served in the US Army in Germany from 1961-1964 with the 7th Army’s 47th Ordnance Group as an Armorer during the Berlin Crisis. He also served in the USAR 411th Engineer Brigade where he reached the rank of SP5. He was a PUFL member of American Legion Post 357, Hallstead,PA. He worked for NYSEG for 23 years at Noyes Island Corporate Garage and at the Goudey Station Power Plant. 

The family will receive friends from 10am until noon Monday March 21, 2022 followed by Full Military Honors Service at Noon. Express condolences online at www.SavageFS.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Broome Oncology or Lourdes Hospice.
