It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Rosemarie Ann Michael, aged 86, who passed away on March 1, 2026, surrounded by family.
Rosemarie was born on September 30, 1939, and was a lifelong resident of Broome County. She grew up on the north side of Endicott and graduated from Union-Endicott High School. A dedicated and hardworking individual, she spent her career as a cable inspector at Amphenol Interconnect in Endwell, NY, until her retirement.
Rosemarie was a devoted mother and grandmother who lived by the motto that hard work is the greatest form of love. She faced life’s challenges with quiet grace and resilience, including the loss of two of her adult children. She shared a special bond with her grandson and caretaker, Dr. Joseph Hall, with whom she celebrated a shared birthday.
Rosemarie found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved polka music, playing bingo, and watching her favorite movies and TV shows such as “The Notebook,” “The Waltons,” “Little House on the Prairie,” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She was rarely without a crossword puzzle book in hand and enjoyed classic card games like Rummy and Go Fish. A talented crafter, she delighted in needlepoint with plastic canvas, sewing, crocheting blankets, and assisting her daughter Joanne with craft shows. She also enjoyed collecting salt and pepper shakers and Betty Boop memorabilia.
Rosemarie is predeceased by her parents, Rose (Antalek) Marchetti and Louis Marchetti; her daughters Joanne Michael and Lorraine Killean; and her daughter Joanne’s passing was especially significant as they had lived together for many years. She is survived by her brother Dominic Marchetti; sister Betty Ann (Marchetti) Searfoss; children Deborah Kolanda and John Michael; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Per Rosemarie’s request, no services will be held at this time. A celebration of her life will be held in late March with details to follow. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her. The family wishes to express their deep gratitude to Savage-DeMarco for their compassionate care and support. Express condolences online at SavageFS.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Savage-DeMarco Funeral Service.
