Vera O'Day, 96, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 30, 2023. Vera was born in Binghamton, NY Aug 6, 1926. She was predeceased by her husband, John E. O'Day, parents, Donato and Caroline DiLascia, sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Angelo Cordi, brother and sister-in-law, Anthony and Elizabeth DiLascia, sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Anthony Bartolotto, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and William Ferranti, brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Mary DiLascia. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William and Lee (Shurtleff) O'Day, NYC, daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Rod Tabert, Ball Ground, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Ross Williams, Alpharetta, GA., grand-daughters and grand-sons-in-law, Lindsay and Rocky Holman, Lauren and Jason Dyer, Kate and Mathew Adams. Great-granddaughters Camilla Holman and Avery Dyer. She is survived as well by her bother-in-law Richard O'Dea of Kirkwood, NY. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews in the DiLascia and O'Dea families. Vera was a loving, generous and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was where the family gathered, always enjoying laugher, food and memories. Her family and their wellbeing were the central focus of her life.
Funeral Mass will be held July 10 at 10 am at St Thomas Aquinas Church, Alpharetta, GA. Burial service will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY on July 12 at 11 am.
