Floyd G. (Jerry) Hollenbeck, 101, went peacefully to meet the Lord on October 13, 2018. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara M. Hollenbeck, his three sons, Guy Hollenbeck, Jerry Lee Hollenbeck, and Raymond Hollenbeck. He leaves behind his stepdaughters Benita Berke of Delray Beach, FL, Christine Segrue of Jacksonville, NC, Linda and Joseph Sniezek of Endwell, NY and Katharine Barrows of Port Orchard, WA., 24 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition, he leaves behind his many friends and caregivers at Vestal Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center who deeply warmed his heart. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps as a sniper supporting campaigns in Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, and the Ryukyu Islands from 1943 through 1945. He later served in the National Guard and was a life long member of the American Legion. He was a hard worker starting his own delivery service appropriately named “Jerry’s Delivery”, worked for Temco (IBM) and greenskeeper at Endwell Greens. He was actively involved in the Marine Corps League, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid hunter, gun enthusiast, and loved to ride his motorcycle. He loved nothing better than being surrounded by his family, his children and grandchildren. Floyd lived his life to the fullest on his own terms and brought a smile to everyone he greeted.
