Walter John Warski, 94, was received into the loving arms of his Savior on Friday, June 29, 2018. A lifelong resident of Endwell, Walter was born to John Warski Sr. and Anna Slavby Warski on October 31,1923. Mr. Warski was pre-deceased by his parents, infant brother Nicholas, wife Janet Travis Warski and his brother John Warski Jr. Heis survived by his former wife Nadine Warski, his four children, Mona Warski Leo (Tony), Lisa Warski Deason (Bob), Alixandra Hice (Larry) and Mark Warski. He is also survived by his special nephew Mark Cucci, two nieces, as well as 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and two beloved brothers in Christ, Ray Jones and Paul Manley. Walter graduated from Union Endicott High School and was employed by IBM Corporation for nearly 25 years where he reached the position of Manufacturing Engineering Manager. He later worked for Universal Instruments and Sperry Univac. Walter was gifted in construction and built his first family home from the ground up in 1951 with the help of his brother and father.
Walter was a World War II Veteran and proudly served his country as a Naval Aviator, flying Douglas SBD Dive Bombers, and acting as a Flight Instructor at the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida. While flying maneuvers in the Naval Reserves, Walter crash-landed his plane at the Binghamton Regional Airport in 1955 and miraculously walked away with only minor injuries. A Naval Chaplain told Walter that God had spared him because he still had work to fulfill on earth. This was a pivotal moment in his life and led Walter to became a born again Christian, faithfully serving Jesus Christ for the remainder of his life. Special thanks to Dr. Marianne Soden, Mark Scalise, and all the wonderful professionals at Vestal Park who have given Walter such tender loving care and friendship for the past six months.
Calling hours will be held 11 am Monday, July 2nd at the First Assembly of God in Binghamton followed by a Memorial service Noon. Interment will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park with full military honors. Online condolences for the family may be expressed at www.SavageFS.com.
