Betty Mae (Thornton) Yetter, 92, of Binghamton died peacefully July 16, 2015 at Elizabeth Church Manor nursing home. She was predeceased by her parents, Clarence and Harriet Thornton; her loving husband, Richard V. Yetter, in 2010 after 69 years of marriage; a son, Richard Jr. in 2004; sister Louise (Chapel); and brother Lee. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law David and Bonnie Yetter, Binghamton; grandchildren Steven Yetter, Binghamton; Emily (Ed) Weibel, WV; and Bryon (Leslie) Yetter, WV; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A lifelong Binghamton resident, Betty married at a young age and devoted her life to being a full-time mother and homemaker. Her fondest memories centered around her home and summer cottage. Her family deeply appreciates the care and compassion she received during her nearly 10-year residence at United Methodist Homes. She will lie in rest and peace in Floral Park Cemetery beside her husband and son. Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
