My sincere condolences to the family of Stan Zareski, Your lost loved one and I shared many experiences from elementary school through High School graduation together, and thereafter at Burt's Department Store in Endicott where we worked together for a time thereafter. I had a high draft lottery # in that Viet Nam service era (350) and went off to college. Stan , voluntarily, represented our generation and nation with a military commitment that did our generation proud. Stan was always the most quiet, but at the same time most liked, Classmate of our era. He was the epitome of the "how can I help you" person. I have lived in a number of remarkable places since our UEHS Graduation in 1970, but I have, over the years, really come to value the special caliber of the Triple Cities. This unique corner of geography and early 20th century economic opportunity laid a foundation for talented, supportive, bonded classmates to prosper and produce yet another generation that will enable ours to endure. If I am following the website info accurately here in Connecticut, Stan 's final service is at St. Joe's. What a beautiful church ! (I was a St. Ambrose guy, but a spent many a Mass at St. J's and it's Alter and grounds were inspiring. And, if I am reading the Internet accurately, Stan's brother Joe is officiating at the Mass. I believe that Joe and I shared a Math class at UEHS, and I can't envision a better individual to have found a calling to the Cloth. God Bless my Friend and your Family.

I respected the man known as Stanley Zareski and I hope that his family and extended family find solace in this very trying time within their life losing their patriarch.

To Heather, Jeremy, and their respective families:
I am sorry for the loss of your father/grandfather, he was a good man and that I understood. I am glad that I knew him and happy that he did his best to stay within both of your lives. Very sorry and my heartfelt sympathies to you both, he is with all those that he has lost along the way in life and will be there when we all had our time comes that we have no control over. Peace is with him now as he sits with the father before a bountiful feast and happy times. He will walk with you all, as the Father has, forever.

To Stan's family, please know that even though I didn't know Stan other than as a classmate through junior high and high school at U-E, and my wife Kathy, since grade school, I will always remember him as the "shy, quiet guy" in our class. After 47 years, his quiet and humble demeanor has stayed with me all these years. I wish that I had the opportunity to one more time to sit with him and hear of his life. I know he will be missed by all those close to him, and by the world, as a very unique man has passed on. God Bless you Stan and your whole family.
